Guía local del Festival de Food Trucks de San Nicolas en Aruba

Don’t miss the San Nicolas Food Truck Festival. It was one of the happiest evenings we’ve enjoyed in Aruba in a long time.

The San Nicolas Promenade came alive with twinkle lights, live music, an energetic MC, and the irresistible aromas of fresh local food. Centered around Kulture Plaza and the iconic yellow Nicolaas Store, families and friends wandered from one stand to the next, eating, laughing, dancing, and simply enjoying a wonderful evening together. It felt wonderfully local and authentically Aruban.

Fresh lemons were squeezed to order at Mi Lamunchi, and adding fresh mint to the lemonade was the perfect suggestion. We shared loaded smash burgers from Cookout, piled high with onions and melted cheese, then treated ourselves to delicious homemade Pico Bello ice cream from the Nicolaas Store.

Everywhere we looked there were Johnny cakes, pastechi, grilled specialties, pulled pork, croquettes, and so many other tempting local favorites. The hardest part was deciding what to try next.

One of my favorite parts of the evening was the live music by Groove Masters, who kept the entire promenade grooving from start to finish. Their energy was contagious, and after seeing them perform, I couldn’t help thinking they deserve a story of their own.

The festival offered much more than great food. Local vendors displayed handmade gifts, artwork, spices, and crafts, and we couldn’t resist popping into SPACE21.art to see what was new. I left with another beautiful piece by Fausta Luna of Luna Accessories, whose handmade jewelry beautifully blends her Mexican heritage with her Caribbean home. Somehow, I always seem to find something I love. Looking around at the paints, brushes, and giant blank canvases inspired me. It’s definitely time to paint again.

One of the unexpected joys of creating Taste of San Nicolas, Kukoo Kunuku’s newest food, art and cultural experience, has been everything I’ve discovered along the way. Every visit introduces me to another local business, another talented artist, another delicious meal, and another reason to fall in love with San Nicolas. Researching this tour has become one of the most rewarding parts of my job, and I can’t wait to keep sharing these discoveries with our guests.

Maria Silva and the Vibration PR team have every reason to be proud. The San Nicolas Food Truck Festival was beautifully organized and full of everything that makes Aruba special: delicious local food, live music, local artists, smiling faces, and an incredible sense of community.

If you love discovering the authentic side of Aruba, San Nicolas belongs on your itinerary. It’s an easy drive from Aruba’s hotel area, there’s plenty of parking nearby, and visitors are warmly welcomed.

Evenings like this remind us that some of Aruba’s most memorable experiences happen far beyond the beach.

I’ll definitely be back. There are still plenty of food trucks to try, artists to meet, and stories waiting to be told.
