Taxis
It is not customary in Aruba to hail cabs off the street by raising one's hand. In general one would phone for a taxi. Hotels, restaurants and stores are well-known to taxi-drivers so pickup from one of these designated spots is no problem at all. Taxis do not have meters; rates are fixed and should be checked in advance. By law, taxis can carry no more than five passengers at one time.

The Dispatch office, which can also arrange taxi tours, is located at Pos Abou in Oranjestad, behind the Eagle Bowling Alley on the Sasaki Road.

Car Rentals
Arubans drive on the right-hand side of the road. If you have an international drivers licence, or any valid driving licence held for at least two years, you may rent and drive an automobile on the island. The minimum age of 21-25 and the maximum age of 65-70 may vary by company.
